We welcome Myotherapist, Miranda Talha to the team at Canterbury Health Hub after graduating with a Diploma of Remedial Massage therapy (2019) and an Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy (2022) from The Australian College of Fitness and Body Work. Miranda has also completed a Certificate III & IV of Fitness (2009 & 2011).
Get to Know Miranda
From an early age, Miranda has been drawn to the health and fitness industry, growing up with a competitive sporting background in netball, soccer, swimming & athletics. For the past 15 years, Miranda has been working as a fitness coach, helping women achieve their health and fitness goals. Her interest in Myotherapy was sparked after experiencing chronic pain after a motor vehicle accident.
Miranda is a compassionate and dedicated therapist. Her time in the fitness industry has provided her with an understanding of the long-term benefits exercise has on the body. She aims to provide a personalised treatment plan for each patient. Miranda firmly believes that understanding a patient’s underlying condition is essential in assisting them with their recovery. Her passion lies in empowering individuals to take control of their musculoskeletal pain or dysfunction, ultimately enhancing their overall health and well-being.
Miranda uses a holistic approach in her treatments, combining soft tissue therapies with mobility & strengthening exercises. She uses a number of techniques, including deep tissue massage, myofascial release, muscle energy technique, cupping, joint mobilisation, trigger point therapy, active release therapy and dry needling techniques. Miranda is particularly interested in treating acute and chronic neck and shoulder pain, women’s health related conditions, hip and lower back pain, chronic pain conditions, sports injuries, occupational related pain and providing pregnancy massage.
When not working, Miranda enjoys taking her two active dogs on adventures to the beach and camping. She also attempts to declutter her large fabric hoard by sewing and designing some clothing of her own. She is proficient in the art of jamming, pickling and chutney whilst listening to her diverse playlist.
