Jessica joined the team at Canterbury Health Hub in 2020 after graduating with her Bachelor of Health Science (Clinical Myotherapy) from Torrens University in 2019.
As a Clinical Myotherapist, Jessica has trained extensively in the assessment, diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal pain and conditions. Her treatment techniques include soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, myofascial dry needling, cupping, muscle energy techniques, patient education and pain management advice, and exercise prescription.
As a practitioner, Jessica is passionate about providing her patients with the information and treatment options targeted at achieving their goals. Having previously worked within the administration team of a multidisciplinary clinic, Jessica has had the opportunity to develop strong communication and active listening skills. It is her personal goal to provide compassionate care to each of her patients by taking the time to understand and explore the underlying causes of their musculoskeletal pain or dysfunction. With a strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology, musculoskeletal pathologies and the neuroscience of pain, Jessica is well suited to provide her patients with a treatment approach that considers the individual as a whole. Jessica is committed to providing her patients with treatment plans based on the best available evidence, tailored to suit her patients’ individual needs.
In her spare time, Jessica enjoys spending time with her partner Shane, and her sausage dog Donald. She also enjoys reading, baking, and dancing, and is always finding new walking tracks throughout Victoria to enjoy the outdoors.
