Kathryn is passionate about health in all its forms. Her professional life has primarily focused on a client-centred approach that supports the health and wellbeing of people living with life threatening and chronic illness.
With an evidence-informed approach and extensive experience as a Counsellor & Advocate, Kathryn supports adults coping with confronting health issues and stressors. She is passionate about empowering clients, families and carers with information, education, approaches to coping and opportunities to engage with high quality and effective psychosocial care. She has specialisation in post treatment follow up and strategies for recovery in cancer and chronic illness, understanding the value of providing highly tailored supportive care interventions. Her key interests include providing psychosocial interventions that support managing uncertainty, adjusting to treatment outcomes, engaging positively with change and assist in engaging with strategies to improve quality of life and optimise psychosocial health across the lifespan.
Kathryn has a warm, empathetic, coaching style that enables her to quickly establish connection and supportive care planning. Kathryn is also an experienced social work clinician who supports clients and carers to engage with MyAgedCare, Advance Care Planning, NDIS and supportive care pathways. Drawing on a range of psychological approaches, Kathryn provides a safe, calm and highly supportive approach where life and events can feel overwhelming, assisting people to engage with optimal outcomes for their individual situation and coping style.
