Osteopath, Dean started out as a bright-eyed and enthusiastic student at RMIT, Melbourne in early 1994, soon after having completed his final year of Secondary School studies. He was eager to learn and become an Osteopath, as he was so passionate about the profession and could hardly wait to utilise his skills gained at Uni in the treatment and management of his patients in a clinic setting. Five years later in 1998, he graduated and was ready to go!
The next step was venturing into the big wide world of Osteopathy. Dean began his career at Blackburn Osteopathy, under the mentorship of Shane Heslop and Philip Tehan. His learning curve was steep, but his love for their profession was strong and he continued to build on his skills.
Alongside work, life unfolded for Dean, including the birth of four beautiful children, Ella, Josh, Tom and William. His life is now full and busy but he feels blessed to have his wonderful children and the phenomenal profession of Osteopathy.
Ten years from graduating saw him take the big leap of faith to begin his own business in 2008, Osteopathy on Canterbury, where he practiced from a small suite in Canterbury. The clinic was born from the culmination of Dean’s vision, which had evolved as he developed individually as an Osteopath, mentor and business owner.
At the beginning it was Dean and one other practitioner. Over the next ten years, that grew into the wonderful group of Osteopaths, Myotherapists, Remedial Massage therapists and an awesome reception team. In February 2019, he acquired larger clinic space and opened up Canterbury Health Hub, which Dean and his large team work from today. It feels just like one big, happy family!
The whole CHH team thrives on delivering high-quality care in a professional and welcoming environment. Our core values of mutual respect, open and honest communication, injection of passion into our everyday and enjoying a laugh together, are what we stand for at CHH as a group.
Canterbury Health Hub was officially unveiled in February 2019, born from years of growth, experience and learning. All the wonderful elements of the clinic are exactly as Dean envisioned and it felt like home as soon as doors opened:
I re-imagined a beautiful hub in the centre of Canterbury that would offer a welcoming, calming and grounding space for people looking to return to optimal health and wellbeing. I knew I had an amazing team of practitioners and I wanted to create the perfect space for our different team members to thrive and flourish in their practices and work together.
