Pierre Wibawa

Neuropsychiatrist & General Adult Psychiatrist

Pierre graduated from the University of Otago in 2010. With expertise in neurology, neurodevelopment, and mental health, he has held clinical and research positions at several leading institutions, including the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Monash Health, St Vincent’s, Sir Charles Gairdner, Graylands, and Wellington Hospital.

Clinically, Pierre has a particular interest in neurodevelopmental conditions, particularly ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). He is passionate about personalised and holistic care for individuals with these conditions, focusing on their unique cognitive, emotional, and social needs. His clinical approach emphasises collaboration, aiming to empower patients and their families throughout treatment. Whether assessing and managing complex neurodevelopmental conditions or supporting general mental health, Pierre is committed to ensuring his patients feel heard and supported throughout their wellness journey. His broader expertise includes dementia, functional neurological disorders, movement disorders, anxiety, OCD and mood disorders.

Besides his clinical work, Pierre has led research and clinical trials in neurodegenerative diseases at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Graylands Hospital. He published his collaborative research in prestigious medical and psychiatry journals and textbooks, including Neurology, the Australian & New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry, NEJM, and the Oxford textbook. He also has further training in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and in clinical neuroscience research. He supervises psychiatry trainees and shares his knowledge through lectures and talks at the University of Melbourne and international conferences.
