Georgia Dawson
Psychologist | Educational & Developmental Registrar
Georgia Dawson graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Master of Educational Psychology and a Doctor of Philosophy (Psychology).
Georgia works with adults, adolescents and young people, and families with neurodiversity. Grounded in evidence-based approaches, Georgia provides a safe and supportive space for clients to explore challenges such as stress, depression, emotion regulation, identity development, anxiety, life transitions, and family dynamics.
A particular focus of Georgia’s work is supporting the mental health and wellbeing of parents and caregivers of children with complex support needs. Georgia sees caregiver wellbeing as essential to fostering a thriving family environment. She works with parents to manage stress, reduce burnout, navigate complex systems including health and education, and reconnect with their own sense of resilience and confidence.
Georgia’s work is integrative and tailored to the needs of each client. She draws on a range of evidence-based modalities, including:
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT): to support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): to help clients build psychological flexibility, clarify values, and take meaningful action.
- Solution-Focused Therapy: to identify strengths, set achievable goals, and create forward momentum in times of uncertainty.
- Relational approaches such as Family Systems Therapy.
