After working in a variety of roles including managing a Practice of 11 Audiologists, and as a Clinical Specialist for a European Hearing Aid Manufacturer, he established his own Private Audiology Practice in 2006.
Louie remains passionate about his Audiology Profession. His core objective remains achieving successful clinical outcomes for his clients, by improving their quality of life. With a respectful, personable and patient nature, Louie has been able to positively transform hearing and communication for many clients over his past 20 years in Private Practice. Inclusivity is a core value of Louie’s. Taking a holistic approach to hearing loss, involving family members and carers in clinical discussions and treatment plans is paramount, as they are often affected by the frustration that can stem from hearing impairment of a loved one.
Working together with Ear, Nose and Throat (E.N.T.) Surgeons over the past twenty years ensures any presenting Medical Ear pathologies are reported / referred on to either the client’s Medical Practitioner or directly to an E.N.T. where clinically warranted. Louie always ensures clients fully understand the status of their hearing levels and the consequent impact on their quality of life, and likes his clients to make informed decisions on their hearing rehabilitation plans. He is fully trained and experienced in ear wax removal using micro-suction and ear curetting.
Louie is an accredited provider of Phonak’s Lyric, a unique hearing device in which is clinically fitted deep in the ear canal where it remains for up to three months without removal. Louie also prescribes the latest technology in daily wear / conventional hearing aids. Clients fitted with daily wear aids are able to pair their aids via bluetooth, stream phone calls and music, and control them with a mobile phone App, while enjoying the convenience of wireless, portable charging. Louie only prescribes high quality Hearing Aid technology from globally leading manufacturers. He is not affiliated with any hearing aid manufacturer, ensuring his clients trial the most appropriate technology and Hearing Aids for their individual clinical needs. Louie can clinically prescribe Bone Anchored Hearing aids, and can refer clients for Cochlear Implant assessments where appropriate.
Louie remains a strong advocate of Independent Private Practice Audiology. He enjoys regularly learning and refreshing his clinical offering by liaising with fellow Audiologists at clinical seminars, workshops and product launches. Additionally, through his personal love for International travel, Louie makes the most of opportunities to participate in international conferences, to refresh and improve his clinical offering in Diagnostic Audiology, Hearing Aid Technology and Hearing Rehabilitation.
Louie is proud of his Greek heritage and enjoys trips to Greece where he stays with his many relatives in Athens and his parents’ Village regions in Southern Greece.
