We are excited to announce that Remedial and Relaxation Massage Therapist, Lauren Torpey, has joined the team at Canterbury Health Hub after completing completing a Diploma of Remedial Massage at RMIT University and is currently studying an Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy.
Get to know Lauren
Lauren’s interest for remedial massage developed through her own experience with injuries sustained in the sporting arena, participating in both netball and horse riding. These experiences led Lauren wanting to help others manage their pain.
Lauren is a warm, dedicated and caring therapist. She is passionate about treating a broad cross-section of the community and aims to understand each patient, to discover the cause of their problem, rather than only treating symptoms. She also provides clients with the knowledge and confidence to understand their condition, to assist in creating positive change and enhanced quality of life.
Lauren incorporates a variety of manual therapy techniques in her treatments, such as soft tissue massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, muscle energy techniques, cupping and corrective exercises. These techniques are specifically tailored to each patient, to achieve the best possible outcomes. Lauren has a particular interest in treating acute neck and upper back conditions, repetitive strain injuries, postural complaints, sciatic pain, plantar fasciitis and headaches.
In Lauren’s spare time, she enjoys being active, playing mixed netball with friends, hiking and going to the gym. She loves spending time with friends and family and follows the AFL, being a mad Richmond supporter!
